Who needs a Student Visa?
- Non-EU/EEA Students: If you are from a non-EU/EEA country, you will need a student visa to study in Cyprus. The visa must be obtained before arriving in Cyprus.
- EU/EEA Students: If you are a citizen of an EU/EEA country, you do not need a visa. However, upon arrival, you are required to register with the local authorities in order to obtain a Yellow Slip that permits you to stay in Cyprus for over 90 days.
Visa Application process
Applying for a student visa to Cyprus involves a few key steps. Make sure you begin the process well in advance of your intended start date.
1. Secure your Admission to CAA
Before you apply for a visa, you must secure your Admission to CAA and pay your tuition fees to the Academy.
We will then provide an acceptance letter, which is necessary for your visa application.
2. Required Documents
When applying for your visa, make sure you have the following documents ready:
- Attested copy of Passport. Pakistani and Egyptian applicants’ passports do not need attestation.
- Attested copies of Secondary and Senior Secondary High-School Certificates and Official Transcripts for Diploma and Bachelor Programs. Students who are applying for a Master’s Degree must also submit an attested copy of their Bachelor’s Degree and Transcript. (Proof of English Language does not need any attestation since Internationally recognized Certificates can be verified online).
- Attested Non-Criminal Record Certificate issued by the local police or Ministry of Home Affairs (for Indian nationals this must be issued by the Passport Office), stating that the applicant has no criminal record. The Certificate must not be issued more than 6 months before the application deadline.
- Attested Bank Letter clearly certifying that the student or the student’s sponsor (parent/guardian) has sufficient funds to cover the student’s expenses and studies in Cyprus (minimum amount €7000). The Bank Letter should be issued on the Student’s or Sponsor’s name, no more than a month before the application deadline.If neither the Passport nor the Police Character Letter state the relationship between the student and the sponsor, then a Certificate of Relationship must be issued by the Police or other official authorities stating the relationship.
- Attested Bank Statement issued on the same name with the Bank Letter, showing that the student or the student’s sponsor, maintains a balance of at least €7000. This statement must be issued no earlier than one month prior to the application deadline.
- Attested Medical Examination report issued no more than 4 months before the application deadline which proves that the student is free from HIV, Hepatitis B & C, Syphilis and Tuberculosis:
a. Blood analysis test for HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis B and C
b. Chest X-Ray for tuberculosis - Two passport size photos with the applicant’s name written at the back.
- Transfer of tuition fees to the Academy’s bank account before the application submission. A copy of the transfer statement and a receipt from the college will be submitted to the migration along with the application. No visas will be issued without a transfer statement and receipt.
- Signed Declaration Form
How long is a student visa valid for?
Student visas are typically issued for one year and can be renewed based on your enrollment status.
Can I bring my family with me on a student visa?
In most cases, family members will need to apply for a separate visa. However, it’s best to consult the embassy for specific details related to dependents.
